Staff: Helen

Helen is responsible for the management of the Career Development Centre and initiated the service, which has led to the establishment of other centres across South Australia.

 

Helen has management and leadership experience over a period of many years in educational, training, career development, employment and community organisations. She was part of the team which wrote the Australian Career Development Studies and which wrote and scoped the Certificate IV in Career Development.

 

Currently she is carrying out research into the workforce needs of the Limestone Coast region. Previous work has included engagement with a range of individuals, industry, local and state government, community and other stakeholders in the South Australia Works program, achieving partnerships focused towards employment outcomes for targeted groups in the community. She initiated and implemented projects with diverse industry groups including engineering, forestry, viticulture, transport, and meat processing, leading to improved workforce development practices.

 

Helen has postgraduate research experience in the areas of enterprise, young people, industry and community development, completing a Master of Education in this field. Helen lectures and tutors University of South Australia students in the areas of Communication, Marketing, Marketing for Services, Enterprise and Business Creation and Entrepreneurial Enterprises. She is an Adjunct Lecturer at Edith Cowen University in the area of Career Development and a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia.
