Here are what some of our partners have to say:

Being a labour hire, workforce solution, privately owned company, (not government funded) it is vital that we gain candidates with the right attitude, good resumes and an idea of what industry or field they wish to target. Potential Candidates for SKILLED who have attended the Career Development Centre go through our rigorous recruitment with a greater understanding of what value their skills are, which in turn lets us know what industries they are interested in and an attitude of confidence in themselves.
    Bev Clayfield, Branch Manager
    SKILLED, Mount Gambier

The strength of the Career Development Centre is the holistic approach to the support and development of people; anyone who walks through the door. The enthusiastic and passionate staff display a commitment to building people and assisting them to achieve their aspirations. In such a way the CDC has been an asset in building the capacity of our Limestone Coast Community and achieving our workforce development needs.
    David Mezinec, Regional Education Manager
    TAFE SA

The CDC has been a central part of our career counselling process and with the skills development of our students for the world of work. The staff of the CDC have provided a great deal of support with designing and providing opportunities for our disadvantaged students to achieve SACE units and employment. The CDC is a valuable and integral component of our strategy to engage students in learning and earning pathways.
    Peter Fox, Manager
    Independent Learning Centre

Prospective university students occasionally present to us not really having any idea of what they want to study, but just sensing that they want to do something different with their life. As the smallest UniSA campus we don’t have specific career counsellors based here, so we often refer students to the CDC for local and confidential support. The CDC definitely ‘value adds’ to UniSA’s presence in Mount Gambier, and we are very happy to support what is a mutually beneficial working relationship between our organisations.
Cathy Hughes, Manager Mount Gambier Regional Centre
    University of South Australia

The Career Development Centre works. As a community it is vital that we work closely together to improve the services offered to all our members. The Career Development Centre has provided invaluable support to teachers and students in the field of career planning. Teachers view the Career Development Centre as a reference point, so that advice and assistance can be sought from an independent source that is current, connected with industry and outside the education sector, which is specific to our region and free of jargon. Students can receive one on one support without the time restrictions or distractions that occur inside a schooling system.
    Troy Bell
    Transition Broker, Limestone Coast

From my perspective as the National Disability Coordination Officer in the region the Career Development Centre offers a central location for information and resources to be provided for people with disabilities who want to succeed in further education and employment.  This information will assist any person with a disability or medical condition to make informed decisions and to know their rights and responsibilities around further education and employment.
    Jenny Watts-Sampson
National Disability Coordination Officer hosted by the
Centre for Regional Engagement University of SA

Group Training Employment is proud to be a partner with the CDC in the Limestone Coast Region, we continually get students, unemployed and mature age people coming into our apprenticeship centre, not knowing where their career path is going, with a poor or no resume at all, and a little lost as to their future. GTE directs them to the CDC, and on many occasions they have returned, with a smile and a new direction, or clear direction as to a vocation they wish to find employment in.
I have found parents of students in particular, very grateful that their child has been referred to an organisation that does listen and actually cares about people

    Brenton Lewis, General Manager
    Group Training Employment

Jobfind Mt Gambier, utilise the skills of the staff at the Career Development Centre extensively. The girls there are fantastic with our mums returning to work. Through their non threatening skills assessment, they are able to encourage and coach these clients to recognise their talents. They assist with developing resumes that reflect the client’s skills. Their career guidance and patience with these clients is invaluable.
    Dennise Howell, Team Leader

The Career Development Centre has made a significant difference in the lives of the skilled migrant population in the Limestone Coast through the provision of employment assistance such as upgrading of CVs, career advice and planning, interview techniques etc.  This valuable input is a major contributor in enabling skilled migrants (the spouses in particular) to find work in the area which in the long term plays a key role in retaining them and their families thus supporting the ongoing economic and social vitality and viability of the region.

Migration & Workforce Development Officer LCRDB & Immigration South Australia

The CDC in Mount Gambier is an outstanding example of how people within our community can work together to help improve our community. The services provided by the CDC prove that there has been a gap of services provided for people from any age who need help with career development. I have a favorite saying of mine that I use all the time with my clients…. ‘Find what you love and love what you do’ - The CDC  and it’s dedicated staff help people achieve this goal.

    Di-Monty Training Solutions, Mount Gambier

CDC has been a fantastic service for Interwork Ltd and our clients.  We have used your services and expertise many times in Resume preparation, career planning/ options/ advice.
CDC regularly advises our clients on career opportunities and provides concise information on Employers and local industry. Interwork Ltd believes that this is an invaluable service and will continue to utilise this service in the future.

In regards to the CDC they are keen to provide information to students and to support them in resume, job interview and personal preparation.
Ali was excellent in talking to the group of girls that participated in the MGHS/TAFE SA pilot program 'Give It A Go Girls' - Women in Agriculture. A number of the girls booked in to organise their resumes and be better prepared for when job opportunities arise.

    Samantha Brown, VET/Pathways Coordinator
    Mount Gambier High School

Grant High School has appreciated the support we have received from the Career Development Centre. It is great to be able to have current career information that the community has access to used in the school. We hope to continue our connection with the CDC in the future and look forward to having some of staff "trained" in writing good resumes and cover letters early in the year.
    Jo Fisher, VET Coordinator
